Gem Village is just outside of Bayfield to the west, and about 16 miles east of Durango.
You'll find many shops and businesses along Hwy 160 that goes through the middle of town. You'll also see several new houses being built to accomodate the growth around the greater Durango area.
Gem Village is surrounded by treed hills, open skies and big, puffy clouds during most of the summer months.
